TAX Justice March
April 15, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Taxes for Peace Not War, with the cooperation of several allied organizations including IE,
is sponsoring their annual Tax Justice March on
Sunday, April 15, from
beginning at the EWEB Building.
“As we are aware, Trump just gave away the greatest Tax Cuts for the most privileged while still NOT revealing his own Tax records. These extremely wealthy corporations that have horded billions in offshore banks, continue to profit enormously off our planetary resources by exploiting our planet, indigenous and working people at all costs. Our safety nets such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, housing, education, social services, etc. are further threatened by the Trump administration in order to offset these enormous cuts. At the same time, we are watching the Trump administration push to extract more petrochemicals and ramp up deforestation to generate revenue while we face urgent Climate Chaos which is the greatest threat on Earth. And of course, the greatest chunk of our Tax dollars that continue to feed the military budget has greatly increased as Trump’s lack of wisdom, skills and arrogance has only antagonized tensions around the world. So while the planet and the people continue to be robbed, these massive cuts for the 1% will drain the treasury of over $1.5 Trillion of needed revenue over the next 10 years, unless we envision a different path.
So what do we want for our Future? And how do we mobilize in solidarity to get what we need?
WE don’t give up, we persevere, we work together the best we possibly can!
And yes, we are extremely active and working hard on many fronts yet at key moments, we find it reinforcing to come together to express our solidarity.
Join us this coming Tax season as we will gather and march from the EWEB Plaza on Sunday April 15th from 1-3 pm with speakers, music and community to draw more awareness of this increasing blatant TAX INJUSTICE as we March to the Old and New Federal Buildings to express our freedom of speech and right to gather in public places.
We also encourage activist groups to share their work, covered space will be provided for tables. Also those in need of a wheel chair for the march can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donations welcome to cover costs.”
